Video Blog For Banned Book Week

  1. Gustavo was reading *The Adventures of Tom Sawyer* by Mark Twain. This book was banned because there was the "n" word seen as offensive language and it was stereotypical. Great blog!

  2. I've never the book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer but I was surprised how one word could have led to this book being banned. I also learned from your video that the book was only banned in a few books which at first I thought it was discontinued nationwide. When was the time period when this book was discontinued? I also found out that during the time it was written stereotypical wasn't a bad thing. Great Vlog Post.

  3. This book was banned for saying the n-word and for being stereotypical. The reason the book was like this was because of the the time period it was written in.

  4. Gustavo,
Do you know when it was banned because I don't think that the "n" word would cause that much drama to ban a book, so was it banned recently or a long time ago? Also, do you know how many states it has been banned in? Overall, good job.

  5. I liked how you didn't talk all professional at the beginning. I just watched a vlog about "Of Mice and Men", it was banned for the same reason. I never knew this book was banned, but I guess that was because it was only banned in a few schools. When did you read "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer"?

  6. Great Blog! I learned that the book "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" was banned because it used the n-word. This word has become unacceptable to say in this time period which caused this book to be banned.
