Top Ten Of My Life

1. Fablehaven Series
The Fablehaven series is one of the best series I have ever read this is one of my favorite books because it showed me to adventure beyond the rules. To solve mysteries even it they seem impossible or unreal. It showed me basically that you can go beyond what is expected of you and even y your self you can make a bigger difference then a group of people. Lastly this book is just an amazing book that anybody can read.

2.Flat Stanley
This book is one of my favorites simple because it was the first chapter book I read. I don't remember much but the best part of the book was when he sent himself in the mail instead of going on an airplane. I remember sitting at the back of the class only five minutes in then class and I was finished with the book. It was the fastest book I ever read and one of the best.

3.City of Bones
I am reading city of bones right now but so far its one of the best books I have read. City of bones is about the Shadow-hunters the Shadow-hunters dedicate there lives to fighting demons. Some people say that Shadow hunters are decedents of angels and demons. The best part of the book so far is when they see the Forgottens which are like henchmen but dead. This is the best part because it was the first big fight in the book where they fight a big forgotten man will looking for clues and assets.

4.Harry Potter Series
The Harry Potter series was just one of the best series in my life. They did teach me many things but the main reason that I like this book is because it was just amazing. It showed me many different things some real some bad but the main thing it showed me was how to deal with people good or bad. Overall this book was just amazing it had everything a book could have.

5.Artemis Fowl Series

This series is listed on here not because it was the best but because it was the worst. I didn't get this series at all it was just bad. I have talked to many people and many of them say it was a really good series but for me it was just the worst I didn't like how most of everything about the book was technology and fantasy mashed up to create Artemis fowl. To me this book was kind of a horrible version of Spiderwick . It was just bad I think you should read it just to see if you like it but for me since the first page it was horrible. (I think I might give it another chance to)

6.Wonder

Wonder is one of the best books in the world it is a book of emotions. The first weeks of 7th grade we started to read this book as a class. The thing that interested me and my classmates the most is that the boy was different. Throughout the whole book we got clues of how he looked. We learned of how he lived how people judged him and the phases in life that he went through. It was just simple very interesting looking through the eyes of  someone different.

7.Magic Tree House Series

The Magic tree house series is just a series for little kids and to this day if I find one I haven't read I'll pick it up and start reading it. I believe everyone in america has read at least one or seen one of the magic tree house books. These books are just so world wide that everyone has seen one. I believe that even if you get older this series will always teach you something.

8.Rainbow Fish

Rainbow fish is a book that all the teachers would read at my elementary school. It would be a book to do projects on and to teach kids a life lesson. I can remember what we would do but my whole family has read it . Its just important because it has been in our family as the first book they would read in first grade.

9.The little engine that could
The little engine that could is a book that teaches a major life lesson. The life lesson that is shown in this book is to never give up. This book was read to us when I was really little and from then one we have never given up. The second lesson taught in this book is to ask for help. Many people think that asking for help is a sign of weakness but in this book it shows that its sometimes the only thing you could do.

10.I'll Teach My Dog 100 Words

I'll teach my dog 100 words is just a really entertaining book . This book is a book that our family read to our dog to try to teach him to speak. We probably read it 100 times but it never worked like we wanted to. Overall this was just an amazing book.

summer blog 4

Title: Sidekicked
Author: John David Anderson
Pages: 1-373
Prompt: Who is your favorite character and why?

This book is one of the best books I read this summer. Unfortunately it isn't a series book and it had to end pretty quick. This book is about some special kids well sidekicks for superheros but this book isn't about one that fly or has super strength this one is about one that has super senses. All of his five senses have been have grown like if you have seen the show Alpha(Rachel). His name is Andrew also known as the Sensationalist.

My favorite character is Titan which is suppose to be the Sensationalist Mentor. Since the beginning though he hasn't been there for the Sensationalist. Since the Sensationalist cant really kill or hurt someone with his power he has a strong mentor. The Titan is just that indestructible he is simple the awesome hero you could think of till he kills someone or so he thought. That person was the Queen of hearts the daughters enemy which was barley over the age of 12 and was killing more people than her father which was pretty impressive. For you to really know how awesome this character is you'll have to see him your self.

The titan look like he belonged in an 9
0's movie the cool kid. White shirt,  black jacket, black boots and pants. .Also the black glasses that hide his eyes. That's why I liked him because of how he looked the way he acted was way different. He was always drunk and ever helped anyone all because of how he killed someone.

Candle Man (3rd summer entry)

Title: Candle Man
Author:Glenn Dakin
Pages:1-300
Prompt: Did you enjoy reading what you read?

I did but then I also didn't enjoy reading this book. This book is about a kid named Theo. Theo is a long decedent of the Victorian Candle Man. The  Candle Man got his name from how when he would be next to a murderer he would glow but the scary part of the Candle Man was that he would be able to turn anybody to wax. Well not real wax but they would melt like one. Theo didn't even know that he was the Candle Man he just knew, well what they told him was he had a serious condition that made him where gloves. The real reason Doctor Saint (the evil guy) made him where gloves was because he was a murder. Once Theo receives a present from the Society of Unrelenting Vigilance his destiny starts.

The reason I liked this book was because of its story line. The story line was amazing it began with a present. The present from the Society of Unrelenting Vigilance when he gets it he is told to meet someone in the grave yard right by his house. There he meets his fellow mates that will help him save the world. From the dodo and Dr. saint.

The bad part of this book was because it dragged. Near the end the book felt like it should have ended it was all talk and no action. I felt like dropping the book but i stuck through it and the finally was worth the wait. I wont spoil the ending but lets just say it just wont die. I hope you read this book it was a good book just when it gets boring don't drop it always keep a book till the end.

NERDS ( First summer entry)

Title: NERDS (National, Espionage, Rescue , and Defense Society)
Author: Michael Buckley
Prompt: What message or lesson was conveyed?
Pages: 1-306

NERDS is a secret agent society of the USA. NERDS stands for National, Espionage, Rescue , and Defense Society. What is different about NERDS that is different about all the other secret agent groups is that they are made up of kids. The reason they have it made up of  kids is because they can get passed security unnoticed (who would suspect as kid to be a spy). NERDS headquarters are in the most secretive place on earth there school. Nobody not even the president knows about the headquarters. there are only 6 agents. 1 "Gluestick" sticks to walls, "Pufferfish" detects danger with her allergies ,"Choppers" mind controls with his two buck teeth, "Flinch" super speed and strength, "Wheezer" flies and blast enemies with her inhaler, and last "Braceface" uses his braces to save himself be cause he is the new recruit in the team of NERDS.

"Braceface" AKA: Jackson Jones was the popular kid in the school. Star football player ,excellent at sports, Looks cool the kid everyone wants to hangout with. Well the ones that aren't getting picked on, as the cool kid in school Jackson has to make people laugh and entertain them. The way Jackson entertains them is through bullying the NERDS (his soon to be teammates). When Jackson gets the news that he is getting braces he knows that his social life is ruined. The next day at school after he gets his braces he is shut out by his friends and he is no longer the cool kid.

After Jones unfortunate accident he started checking everybody in his grade to find out what there weakness was and when he thinks he finished checking everyone. He noticed the nerds haven't been checked. Jackson's finds out that they work for the government and that there part of NERDS. That is the start of Jackson's career as a spy. The Lesson to be learned from this book is that even if your the most popular kid in school you can still fall all the way to the bottom. Also if you bully someone you can end up being the bullied one,

Ordinary Boy: Week- 05/12/14

Title: The extraordinary adventure of Ordinary Boy / The Hero Revealed
Author: William Boniface
Week:04/12/14
Pages: 1-195
Prompt: What message or lesson was conveyed.

Hello readers todays book that I am writing to talk about is The extraordinary adventure of Ordinary Boy / The Hero Revealed By: William Boniface. This book is an extraordinary book there are so many things that you learn and talk about in this book. Some of them are school related, life related, and even dream related. There are three main things I have learned through out the book. One of them is that its okay to be ordinary. In this book there is this town called Superopolis in Superopolis there is a whole bunch of heroes . Everyone that is born there is born with a certain power. It can be a good power like being able to with stand anything(The Amazing Indestructo - AI) or you can have a really bad superpower like your head being shaped like a Melon (Melon Head). In Superopolis nobody is normal except Ordinary Boy. Ordinary Boy doesn't have any super power but he wishes he did and through out the whole book he learns that being normal is the best super power he could have. In the end ordinary boy finds out its better to have no power and be powerless than to have a power and depend on that and nothing else.

The second thing I learned through out this book is that never give up on your dream. I learned this throughout the book in so many ways. Ordinary boy and his friends had a dream that one day they would have all the superhero cards and that they would save someone once in there life. In this book they are given one clue "rocks". All of Ordinary boys teammates didn't know because most of the people in Superopolis are dumb they never listen in class and have never learned anything part of the fact is that they have superpowers. Ordinary boy is the only one with some kind of knowledge (later in the book you find out he is really smart) so Ordinary boy finds the places and they don't find any till the last one where they have one out of three cards to complete the set. Near the end of the book they get there first mission and that is to stop doctor brain drain (superpower- steal brain power) from covering the town in use to be rare cards.

Lastly the thing I learned is about companies and how they make so much money. In the book there is this guy with a super power to make money. What he does is promote a really cool thing that the kids will be attracted to on everything that is sell able. He tells everyone that there is a limited edition little do the people know is that by limited he means 1 of each or less. He has the only copies in his office. In the book they say that there is a limited amount of doctor brain drain cards(the cards they needed to complete the set). There are actually three till a man named the multiplier make a lot of these cards and sells them. Just to have more money. Overall this book was great it has so much action and adventure, but its more of a kids book.

If you have successfully completed the challenge or are about to, how did you make this happen?

The forty book challenge is basically having to read 40 books in about a year of school. I am about have way through the forty book challenge (26/40). I believe like in the beginning of the forty book challenge I was ready for it ,one month and I was 6 books in. After that month ended I felt like I stopped reading so much I wasn't so engaged anymore. Near the end which is really close I noticed I have started reading more. Through out this experience i found out that reading is actually really fun if you have nothing to do. I feel like I will read more during the summer than last summer. I think I have done all of this by pure will if I didn't have the will to do this then I would probably have just read for my blogger.

Based on your 6th grade year, how would you rate what you have read this year?

Based on my 6th grade year I feel like I have improved a lot. In my 6ht grade year I feel like I didn't read, I didn't feel like reading. Then my teacher pushed me and showed me about so many good books. Until I started checking them out I wouldn't feel like reading or even open a work unless it was for school. What i have read this year is way different then what I would read last year. Last year I would rate what I read a 5/10 and now 9/10. Over this year I have tried different genres all because of the 40 book challenge.

Consider the amount of books you have read, as well as the caliber of the text.

The amount of books I have read this year is pretty decent. I could have went more if i would have put more effort this year. I have next year to work on the 40 book challenge. I think we should keep the forty book challenge but to have a prize at the end for the people that made it ,like a pizza party. This would make more people try and strive for it because
they would want to eat pizza (good pizza) with there friends.

What are your thoughts about the 40 Book Challenge going in to 8th grade?
